The water cooler talk here at the office is inventory. According to the Reno-Sparks Association of Realtors, at the end of January 2020 the number of available single family homes for sale was 671 homes. This is down 39.5% from January 2019 and down 21.5% from December. We expect to see lower inventory this time of year, but it’s really low.
We have active buyers that are out there looking but with the limited supply of available homes for sale they are facing challenges in finding their perfect homes. If history is to repeat itself we should see the number of new listings increasing in the coming Spring months.
So sellers, know it’s a great time to list your home for sale but it needs to show well and be priced well.
Buyers this is the time to get with us to get a search set up and start watching all the upcoming listings. You should have your pre-qual letter ready and be ready to act. Once you see something you like, don’t wait to get out and see it.
The Shocket Team is ready to help both buyers and sellers as we gear up for the Spring/Summer selling season.
